The format of a music-literary concert – "Concerto recitativo" – lends itself well to presenting the highly gifted clarinettist Kinan Azmeh in the form of a "concert portrait of an interpreter": his personality, his musical points of view, opinions, experiences, thoughts, feelings and reflections. So he won’t be speaking himself during the concert, but solely through the "borrowed voices" of both concert narrators.

Thus, with the HEWAR Trio together, the opportunities to portray his music and for Western audiences to perceive it differently are present in ways that might not be possible in an unnarrated concert.

In as much as Kinan Azmeh is a commuter between Eastern and Western music cultures and is likewise an internationally renowned artist, it seemed a natural step to want to hear him as a soloist of Occidental music in the Brahms Trio, Op. 114 as well.

And what will remain after it’s over? Human warmth, a better appreciation for the music, and the acknowledgement of cultural differences or similarities that result from a stylistically diverse and bound breaking collage-like programme.

Kinan Azmeh was "Artist in Residence" at the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück in 2010.
Whether as a soloist with the Morgenland Chamber Orchestra, as a guest musicians with the Uighurian Rock band Qetiq or as a soloist with the Osnabrück Symphony Orchestra and the NDR Big Band, he thrilled the audiences.
