Lord Mayor Boris Pistorius
Boris Pistorius is the Lord Mayor of Osnabrück. For the next eight years, Pistorius is not only the highest representative of the city, but also the head of the administration. He was inaugurated as the new Lord Mayor on 7th November 2006 during the constituent council meeting.

Boris Pistorius, born on 14th March 1960 has been a member of the council of the city of Osnabrück since 1996. There he worked on various committees, was Vice-Chairman of the SPD Party and in addition, acted as voluntary Mayor from 1999 to 2002.

Educated as a Wholesale and International Trade Specialist and a graduate Jurist, Pistorius moved into the State Services in 1991 and worked there in various administrative and political areas, amongst others in the office of the Home Secretary of Lower Saxony. From 2002, Pistorius was departmental director of the State School Authority for Osnabrück.
